The background shows when you pick “Show it all” or add space around, which is handy for logos and screenshots. JPG is smaller and right for photos. Pick PNG for logos, text or sharp edges. Files are made in your browser with a canvas, and the covered areas are close guides, not exact: each app moves them a little between phone and desktop.

How it works

  1. Drop in one picture, or paste it. You see it cropped right away for X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and a profile picture.
  2. Drag inside any frame to move the crop, and use the zoom slider to get closer. Switch on "What gets covered" to see where your profile photo or the video length sits on top.
  3. Download the size you need, or all of them at once as a ZIP. Every file comes out at the exact size each site asks for.

Questions

Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?

No. The cropping and resizing happen in your browser. Your picture never leaves your computer.

What size is an X (Twitter) header?

1500 × 500 pixels, a 3:1 strip. Your profile photo covers part of the bottom left, so keep faces and text away from that corner.

What size is a LinkedIn banner?

1584 × 396 pixels, a 4:1 strip. On your profile your photo covers part of the left side, so put the important part in the middle or on the right.

What size should an Instagram post be?

1080 × 1080 for a square post, or 1080 × 1350 for a tall (4:5) post, which takes up more of the screen in the feed.

What size is a YouTube thumbnail?

1280 × 720 pixels (16:9), under 2 MB. The video length is shown in the bottom right corner, so keep that spot clear.

Why is the profile picture square when the preview is round?

Every site asks for a square picture and cuts it into a circle itself. The round preview shows you what people will see.

What if my picture is smaller than a size?

It is still made at the exact size, but it is stretched, so it can look soft. The frame says “Your picture is small for this” when that happens. Start from a bigger picture if you can.
